Oder-Neiße-Radweg

Der Oder-Neiße-Radweg ist Deutschlands östlichster Radfernweg und bestens ausgebaut. Auf Initiative des ADFC wurde er vor einigen Jahren zur Modellroute für das deutschlandweite Radfernwegenetz auserwählt. Beispielhaft und länderübergreifend konnten einheitliche Qualitätsstandards entwickelt und umgesetzt werden. Im Ergebnis ist ein Radweg entstanden, der sich zu einem der beliebtesten deutschen Radfernwege entwickelt hat und im Jahr 2009 als Qualitätsroute eingestuft werden konnte. In den vergangenen Jahren sind Initiativen entstanden, die auch im polnischen Bereich von Neiße und Oder den Radtourismus unterstützen wollen. Einige bereits jetzt schon gut zu fahrende Routen sind in diesem Buch als unkommentierte Alternativen in den Karten dargestellt.

Streckencharakteristik

Länge

Die Gesamtlänge des Oder-Neiße-Radweges von der Quelle bis zur Ostseeküste beträgt ca. 643 Kilometer. Außerdem sind 415 Kilometer als Varianten und Ausflüge dargestellt.

Wegequalität & Verkehr

Der Oder-Neiße-Radweg ist bestens ausgebaut. Meist verläuft die Route auf Radwegen und ruhigen Landstraßen, zum großen Teil in Flussnähe. Mehr als 95 % der Strecke ist asphaltiert, ca. 60 % der Wege sind autofrei. Die Qualität der Wege ist lediglich in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern nicht so ganz perfekt, in Küstennähe kommen kurze Abschnitte vor, die etwas schwieriger zu befahren sind. Mit stärkeren Steigungen werden Sie nur im Quellgebiet der Neiße konfrontiert.

Beschilderung

Die Route ist fast durchgehend sehr gut beschildert. In Tschechien gibt es für das ganze Land eine Markierung der Radrouten mit gelben Schildern mit Fahrradsymbol und einer Radwegenummerierung. Der Weg entlang der Neiße ist mit den Nummern 3038, 3036 und 14 ausgewiesen, auf Abweichungen wird im Text eingegangen. Leider sind diese Schilder noch nicht an allen Entscheidungsstellen angebracht. In Deutschland führt der Radweg durch drei Bundesländer, entsprechend unterschiedlich ist er ausgeschildert. Der Oder-Neiße-Radweg ist Bestandteil des D-Routennetzes, eines Netzes von 12 herausragenden Radfernwegen, die in den nächsten Jahren mit einer einheitlichen Beschilderung versehen werden. Das abgebildete Logo ist zwischen Zittau und Bad Muskau bereits durchgehend ausgewiesen.

This Pillow Is The Greatest!

This pillow is amazing! It’s very pricey, but worth EVERY penny in both my opinion and my husband’s. My husband had been complaining about his old pillow for a while. I did some research and this pillow seemed to be the best of the best according to the reviews. But that price - yikes! I kept checking back and saw it was on sale and decided to take a chance. Bought it in the tall size (7.5 in.) and decided it would be his early birthday gift. The first night of him using it was AMAZING for both of us. He has snored like a freight train and will periodically stop breathing for 15-18 seconds throughout the night for the past 26 years that I know of. Immediately, his super loud snoring downgraded to a very low level of snoring. He said after the first night he fell asleep fast, did not wake up nearly as much and finally had no neck pain in the morning. He’s had it over a month now and says he can’t believe a pillow could make this big of a difference in his sleep quality. I can’t believe I don’t have to deal with his concert level snoring anymore. Plus, he no longer stops breathing for short intervals anymore! This pillow has been well worth the cost for us!

It’s $30 to return and quickly STINKS from body heat

Original review about $30 return below, but since it cost to return I gave it to my husband. He’s a hot sleeper so other than this pillow we’ve switched to all cotton, linen or wool bedding and it’s made a huge difference. (Polyester is plastic so it reflects your heat back to you and makes you sweat more and doesn’t breathe.) I truly would not have kept this pillow except $30 felt like a waste just to return and he got excited about it. So okay, it’s his. Well I’m the laundry queen in our household (he does all dishes) and I realized very quickly this pillow would need to be washed OFTEN. Like, once a week is NOT enough. Something about body heat and this material smells HORRIBLE. Washing it is obviously not easy, so I handwash the outer layer of the pillow with a very gentle soap (bought for silk). And then it has to hang dry. It doesn’t matter. I can clean it perfectly, no smell remaining whatsoever, but after two nights, it’s so strong I can smell it JUST STANDING NEAR THE BED. Look. I mentioned my hubs sleeps hot, sure. But he’s hygienic. This should not be such an issue. It’s never been an issue with any other pillows. The smell doesn’t even smell like him or like B.O. or anything. It’s awful and legitimately churns my stomach. But can I throw out the stupid $200 thing? Noooo. Now he’s attached. And I’m spending hours of my life each week washing it to keep from feeling sick sleeping near it at night. And to avoid having wasted $200. Hate this thing. DON’T BUY THIS STUPID PILLOW. Dropping from 2 stars to 1 Because of the smell. Original review: I thought I could buy this and see if the height would work for me. It didn’t, and pinched my neck instead. But now the *only* way to return it is to ship through UPS (not return to the UPS Store or Kohl’s or Whole Foods, which would be free). I was going to return it and try a different size, but such a high price just to *try* it is not worth it to me. I’ve returned much larger (defective) items in the past without hassle or cost (like an entire heavy duty garage shelf with broken pieces). Had I known, I would not have ordered in the first place, so I hope this saves someone else. As for the pillow itself, it was unique, but I couldn’t even really lay my head on it for more than a moment until I had let it air out for more than a week. It REEKED upon arrival. My husband said it smelled like ozone, and my brother compared it to the inside of an airplane. It burned my throat if I tried to lay on it for more than about 30 seconds at a time. Two and a half weeks later, the smell is still slightly there. So even if it was comfy for me, I would not keep this pillow.
